Entrance to St. Mary the Virgin Church
The entrance for RLAS sessions is located in the small office/building attached to the front of the church at the front of the church, through the black door. Photographs to better identify the location are below.Finding RLAS' address
Mortlake High Street is the road which runs between the junction where Sheen Lane ends where Mortlake Green is found at one end and White Hart Lane at the other. The church is approximately halfway along Mortlake High Street. A map is at the bottom of this page.From Mortlake station
St. Mary the Virgin Church in Mortlake High Street is approximately 4 to 5 minutes walk from Mortlake railway station. If leaving the station from the platform where trains goto onto to London Waterloo, exit the station through the exit (ie not over the bridge). If leaving from the station from the platform for trains to Richmond, either exit the station and turn left immediately in Sheen Lane and cross over the railway tracks or from the platform cross over the railway tracks via the bridge.Then walk straight on down Sheen Lane with Mortlake Green on your left towards the roundabout. Turn right at the roundabout into Mortlake High Street. Continue straight on, the church is on your right.
Landmarks include, at the exit of the station, there is Sheen Lane Builders Merchants Ltd (large stocks of wood), with on the other side of the road, the Mortlake Station Garage. Carrying on down Sheen Lane, on the right is the Railway Bar. Turning right into Mortlake High Street, immediately on entering it is the Royal Mail sorting office and then Mortlake Business Centre/Vineyard Heights and then the Claude Butler pub.
How to gain entry
To gain entry at St. Mary the Virgin Church:- entry is through the large black door at the front of the small building at the front of the church (see the photographs below)
- the entry door to St. Mary the Virgin Church' office is sometimes locked
- on entering please take a seat in the entry hall
- while waiting, complete a client contact sheet and read the RLAS information leaflet
Transport
Railway: The nearest railway station is Mortlake (South West Trains).Buses: 419 and 209.
The 419 bus passes the door of the church.
The 209 bus stops either at the junction of Mortlake High Street and First Avenue or at its final, next, stop which is at the junction of Avondale Road and North Worple Way. For the latter walk back down Avondale Road, and turn left into Mortlake High Street and continue onto the chruch.
